When you bought a ticket you were put into a drawing. When you showed up, you were given a ticket for a change to win free hosting with InMotion Hosting.
So We’ve finally pulled a name and are ready to announce the winner for a FREE year of VPS hosting: Cesar Gonzalez. Congratulations!
Also, when we were drawing tickets many of you had left the hall. So we still have two FREE shared hosting coupons to give away. So we drew names: David Lopez and Bruce Becker won!
On a final note, for those who are interested in WP e-Commerce, I’ve been given a few free gold upgrades. So if you’d like these, leave a comment below and I’ll get them over to you. Be sure to thank Shayne Sanderson.
Well we’re two days past LA’s first WordCamp, and I’d love to get some feedback from you. Many have written on twitter, but here is a few polls.
As far as I’m aware Los Angeles’ first WordCamp was a hit! So I thought i would take the time to continue to follow up after the event. If you saw me running around you may have noticed my Cannon camera I was carrying around. Anyway I posted all the photo’s I took up on flickr, and set up a WordCampLA group for you to join and add to if you’ve got some great shots!

If you’ve got any photos, please upload them to flickr and tag them as “WordCampLA” and/or join the flickr group and add them there as well!
I’d also like to take the time and thank the following for taking photos:

I know I’ve made some previous announcement about a possible dev day. Well after your votes, over 100 people said they were interested.
So today we locked down a small room at the Custom Hotel. The room has a max capacity of 75, so this event will be only for the die hard coders and developers who want to dive deeper into WordPress.
Will have a sign up list located somewhere near the registration area.

This will be a BarCamp style event, with no planned speakers or schedule. Just bring your computer and you questions, thoughts and ideas.
For more info, just ask us tomorrow at WordCamp!
Well, it has come really fast and tomorrow is LA’s first WordCamp event. I would like to take the time to mention a few things in regards to tomorrow.
There has been a change to the speaker line up and schedule. Eyal Gura will no longer be speaking. In his place we’ve got Gary Nicholson talking about “Useful WordPress plugins for CMS and Blogs”:
We’ve been asked this question by a few of you, “Where do we go”. So, first check the about the venue page, then check out this detailed map we’ve got of the LMU campus (Which clearly shows in color, where you can park, where track 1 will be (Also check in) and where track 2 will be) and just in case your unsure of the schedule, you may want to check out the page for that.
Everyone who purchased tickets online in advance will have a name badge (which we are printing right now).
You can pick up your name tag at Track 1 (Seaver Science hall) where check in will be held. There will be plenty of signs and WordPress balloons to direct you.
I know tickets sales online closed, but you can show up and get tickets at the door for $30.
If any of you want to the recent WordCamp in San Francisco, you know about your name tags having your Gravatar on them. Well we’re going to be doing the same thing here in LA! So if you’ve bought your ticket already be sure that the email you used is registered with Gravatar.com.
Want to see a preview of the event badge?
Wow, we’re real close. Only 8 days till LA’s first WordCamp! If you haven’t noticed, the speakers schedule is up now.
We’ve also added three new speakers in two panels ( one which you voted for ), check them out:
Hey WordCamp attendees! At this point we’ve got over 125 tickets sold and we’re less than two weeks away. Don’t have your ticket yet? Grab your ticket here for only $25!
Ok, so while we are getting really close, I thought I mention the after party. It’s going to be taking place at the Custom Hotel out-door upper pool bar.
This portion of WordCamp if FREE, special thanks to DigitalLA; more info.
Remember, if you’d like, we’ve got a special discount for attendee’s to stay at the Custom Hotel for only $99. Check out this page for more info.
We’ve been blessed with another sponsor: Microsoft Web has agreed to help us with the after party to make it even better! Look out for special drink prices for WordCampLA attendees ( hang onto and bring your name badge ). May even get a free drink!
So I’ve been asked a few times, and still have a few spots open in one of the two tracks. So I was thinking about a SEO Panel / Questions & Answers. What do you think? Please give us some input.
I may already have one speaker interested, do you know another? Are you one? Leave response!
