To all organizers, we did it! Woo-hoo, we made WordCamp Los Angeles 2020 happen!!
This year has thrown the whole world into a deeply strange alternative reality. A reality that tested how the world can adapt to and navigate through unprecedented circumstances. We, the WordCamp LAX 2020 organizer team, saw this as an opportunity to do something different. We put our heads together and brought the community experience of an in-person event to an engaging, first-ever two-day virtual venue.
Even if the team was physically apart, the blood, sweat, and tears (from getting sponsors to selecting speakers to doing a live show) that was poured into this project was well worth it. This project became more than a WordCamp. In these strange times, our virtual event gave people much-needed positive vibes and tons of fun. For that, all of us, deserve to recognize our own achievements and congratulate ourselves for our efforts.
The tears, the laughs, the hiccups—we will always remember the memories and bonds we made through this journey. This isn’t goodbye. We’ll see each other at a physical camp soon!
