Sunday afternoon BarCamp

On Sunday afternoon in the Santa Monica Pier room we’ll be hosting the first ever WCLAX BarCamp.

The BarCamp is an open, participatory workshop-event format in which the content of the event is provided entirely by the participants.

This means that you the attendee will have an opportunity to contribute to WordCamp Los Angeles and make it your own!

Our BarCamp session will feature 10 attendees presenting short five-minute presentations on any topic even tangentially related to WordPress.

Here’s how it works:

Arrive at camp with your ideas for short five (5) minute lightning presentations. Find the BarCamp signup board and write down your ideas anytime before lunch on Sunday.

Check the board periodically and see what’s been posted. If you see anything you like, vote for it by writing a plus (+) sign next to the topic(s) you’re interested in.

We’ll tally up the votes on Sunday during lunch and round up the presentations. The 10 ideas with the most votes will have 5 minutes during the BarCamp session to present!

Maybe you’ve never presented at a WordCamp before or maybe you’re a veteran speaker. Perhaps you’re excited about a tiny subject that you just want to share with us, maybe you’re looking to provide us with a sneak peak of a larger concept you’re trying to flesh out. Anything goes but avoid self-promotion! Keep in mind that the WordCamp Code of Conduct remains in effect!

Get your ideas ready, we’ll see you on Sunday!
