We have been getting some inquiries about registration. We are happy to announce that WordCamp Los Angeles tickets go on sale Monday, August 19th, 2013 at noon!
Just a quick note to everyone. We’re going to be cutting off speaker submissions on August 12th 2013. We’ll give ya until midnight to get your awesome pitches in. =) Announcement on speakers to follow soon after! 8/26 Update: Thank you for all of your volunteer applications! We’ve been overwhelmed by the response. We’ll be contacting the volunteers this week to confirm everything. With WordCamp Los Angeles less than eight weeks away, things are really starting to come together! We’ll be closing speaker and sponsor submissions soon, but we still have some very important roles to fill – volunteers!
WordCamps wouldn’t be possible without the incredible WordPress community. So, now we are asking if you (yes, you!) would like to help out. In addition to our gratitude, you’ll get a free ticket, a t-shirt, and a 5×7 autographed picture of Alex Vasquez and his great hair™.
If you are interested in lending us a hand, please fill out the form below. We are currently looking for the following:
Happiness Bartenders: The Happiness Bar is a place where WordPress experts offer their help and advice to attendees. It’s a great way to share some knowledge and interact with the community. We’d love to have you help out!
Registration Wranglers: Having attendees is great, but we need to make sure we get everyone checked in. Therefore, we’ll need your help in the morning to wrangle all the attendees and stray cats, and to make sure the registration process goes smoothly.
Room Monitors: Each room will need to have at least one room monitor present to introduce speakers, and keep things on schedule. You’ll help keep the speakers aware of the time, and help the transition between sessions. We’ll have multiple room monitors, so you won’t be tied to the same room all day.
General Helpers: We’ll also need people to help out with smaller tasks throughout the day. This could range from helping attendees with directions, hauling equipment, or just about anything. tl;dr: We need help!
If you’re interested in helping, and you are comfortable committing to the date, let us know!

Lots of folks who have either heard of a WordCamp or have attended one or more sometimes wonder: Should I attend a WordCamp? Don’t be silly, of course you should! There’s a few things one should absolutely do in their lifetime such as taking a ride on a majestic Mountain Lion, become a Ninja, or eat fifty hot dogs in a minute! But if you’re not down for that sort of tom-foolery, or the notion of hot dogs just doesn’t jive, then you should definitely attend a WordCamp!
There’s a lot of content to consume for beginners, publishers, developers, designers and more. The connections you make and community connection are invaluable as well.
