Join us Friday the 9th @ Blankspaces in Santa Monica from 11am – 4pm for a WordPress theme workshop. This event is a free seminar which is part of WordCamp LA 2011.
You must be registered with the conference to attend, but if you feel like only attending this event please leave a donation (anything helps). Please note, there is only 50 spaces available so if you are a developer or a more advnaced user, please hold off on attending, we’ve got a developers day for you.

11:30am – Kristin Falkner – From PSD to WordPress: Tips & Tricks for Taking Any Design & Turning it Into a Custom Theme
Overview of the key concepts behind taking any design and turning it into a functional WordPress theme. Tips include base themes to work off, how to break up a PSD and its content into pieces suited for WordPress, the best plug-ins for heavy customization, etc.
12:30pm – Quick Break *optional
1:00pm – John Hawkins – An introduction to Child Theming
A presentation on how to get started building a child theme. showing things like importing CSS, overwriting files, functions, etc…
1:45 – 4:00pm – Break out sessions (anything goes).

I would love to attend the free them workshop. Either way, I will be at Word Camp on Saturday but why not put the flag up the poll and see who salutes.
Still watching Twitter and hoping their are a few cancels for Friday … this looks really great and would love to be there. Streaming though is nice though so thanks for adding that.
