What you might be looking for

I hope everyone had a fantastic Labor Day weekend! We are now four days for WordCamp, and we have got over 260 attendees, so there may be a few questions! I hope this post will take care of most of them…

Time management

  1. For up to the minute info you can check the schedule on the schedule page, but, we will also be printing out schedules on the back of your badge. So if you haven’t got your ticket yet I suggest you get on top of that before Friday, because this years badge is going to be awesome!
  2. Check-in will start at 8am and not a minute earlier. You are more then welcome to show up before that, but don’t expect us to check you in just because your twenty minutes early.
  3. Once you’ve checked in you can head inside and grab a seat, morning announcements will take place upstairs in the developers track.

T-shirts

  1. When you purchased your ticket you chose your t-shirt size, and now that the final order date for ticket with t-shirt has come and pass, what your ordered is what you get. So don’t ask for a different size, thanks.
  2. We only purchased enough t-shirts for people who got there order in in-time, sorry we won’t be selling any extras.

Location

  1. Last year LMU did not allow us to put up very many signs, so many people got a bit lost on the large campus. So I’d like everyone to take a peek at the venue page and/or this map where we’ve highlighted the best place to park and the location of the conference, which is at Seaver 100 & 200.

After Party

  1. WordCampLA should be ending around 5:30pm, and like last year I know some people were tired and took off a bit early to grab a bite before the after-party. So, here are a few things to know:
    • Those who leave early and others, can join the pre-after party at the AMF Bowling Center (El Dorado Lanes) next door to the Custom Hotel. This pre-party will start at 6:00pm. The bar has cheap drinks and decent food. There is also a deli, and Ralphs next door.
    • At 7:30pm the official after-party for WordCampLA starts at the Custom Hotel lobby bar. Parking is limited and valet is $11. Microsoft was kind enough to help of with our tab, so find me for a drink ticket before there gone. Also we’ve secured a special happy hour extension with your name badge, so don’t forget them!

Sunday’s Development day

  1. This year we announced in advance a development day. Though we do have a limited amount of space. Since we have over 250 attendee’s the development day will only be for developers. This is not a beginners day.
    • We’ve only got space for 50 attendee’s, and will have sign-ups at the check-in on Saturday. So please find the sign-up sheet at the table.
    • Also, thanks to Mobiah, lunch will be provided (Chipotle burritos – orders will be taken Sunday morning, be prompt).
    • Dev day will be from 11am – 4pm.
    • It will be held at the Custom Hotels Prairie room on the 2nd floor.

I would like to thank all of our sponsors, with out them this event would not be possible, and you might be paying a lot more than $25 for tickets.
